About Me

I’m Philip Allen, founder of Hegman Business Advisors.

For more than 20 years, I’ve helped organizations grow by bringing clarity to complex sales, marketing, and operational challenges. My career spans multiple industries — including medical devices, precision manufacturing, electronics, industrial products, and finance — but the work has always centered on the same goal: aligning strategy, people, and execution to produce measurable results.

Most recently, I served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for a privately held precision machining company, where I led double-digit revenue growth, refocused the business to serve 100% medical device customers, and guided the company through strategic planning in a highly regulated ISO 13485:2016 environment. Along the way, I partnered closely with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to ensure commercial goals were tightly aligned with operational reality.

I’ve led company rebrands, built modern demand-generation programs using LinkedIn, YouTube, email marketing, and cloud-based CRM systems, and created cross-functional New Product Introduction (NPI) teams that reduced lead times on complex projects by 50%. I’ve also hired, trained, and coached sales professionals, helping good performers become great ones.

What sets my work apart is a practical, disciplined approach to growth. I’m tactically agnostic — once the strategy is clear, the right tactics follow. I believe that if you don’t know where you’re going, any road will take you there. And if it’s measured, it can be managed.
